How I got a job in 28 days

I turned on the green hashtag#opentowork banner on Tuesday 27th August and I turned it back off on Tuesday 24th September, exactly 4 weeks after.

It would have taken only 3 weeks had there been no floods in Central Europe.

All roads from my home to the office were closed due to the high water.


𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭?

Three things:
1️⃣ 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 with companies I've already had interview in in the past!

2️⃣ 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 - as long as people don't know that you exist, finding a job is much more difficult.

3️⃣ 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 - it strengthens the awareness of you.


I've had interviews in 7 companies.
Some of them ghosted me.
Some of them rejected me.
I rejected some of them.
One accepted me.

How to stay in touch with a company that rejected you after an interview?

This was the thing I got many questions about on LinkedIn.

After I got rejected by a company/person I wanted to work with, I asked them if we can stay connected on LinkedIn.

That way I can see their posts and they can see mine.
If there was a post I liked, I commented on it.

Some of these comments led to a private communication.
After having a few of such discussions, we didn't forget about each other.

➡️ I've had interviews in 7 companies this time.
⬅️ I already had interviews or exchanged e-mails in the past with 3 of these companies.
✨ I got an offer in 1 of them now.


What does it mean for you?
Maybe you didn't succeed today.
But it doesn't mean you can't succeed next time!
